Happy summer!

Second grade playing loteria all together- what a fun way to bring our school together.  I have to admit, I was nervous about disrupting routines on the last day of language for outdoor game day and loteria, but I was wrong. Students stepped up to the opportunity to come together as a whole grade level, and to get to share a game that many of them know and love, but was new for others. Thank you to the language team for organizing this for our students! The look of achievement. Savor it this week! Weekend Monday 5/27 Memorial Day Tuesday 5/28 Step Up Crew Jumprope day in Specials! Week of May 20

Outdoor ed-- what an amazingly exhausting experience it always is. Thank you third grade for letting me tag along as your students showed so much perseverence, compassion, teamwork and enthusiasm (and maybe even some executive skills). It's a huge lift, but also results in experience that our students will remember for a long time. And, we even have some newly minted bike riders! If you see a third grader, ask them what their highlight was- and if you see a third grade teacher (or Heather or Tamara), give them a huge thank you.  Weekend Monday 5/20 4th grade to CMS for drama performance, 1:15-2:30 Building schedule work session, 3:15-3:45 3:45 fire drill  Payday Tuesday 5/21 2nd grade literacy celebration, 8-8:30 Wednesday 5/22 MTSS: third graders MOM, BAG, PD K/1 Learning Wednesday ERW: Report Card Worktime Thursday 5/23 Building schedule work session, 7:15-7:45 SAC meeting for families, 8-8:30, library Third grade literacy celebration, 8-8:30 Third grade recording PSAs in af...

Week of May 13

Happy staff appreciation week, everyone.  We appreciate you for SO many different things- your dedication, your reflectiveness, your commitment to each other and our students, the JOY you bring to every day (happy mismatch day!). We also appreciate you for the time, effort, skill, and heart that you put into helping all of our students become readers. Our dibels growth looks AMAZING- check out the graphic above! From August to now, we have moved ninety seven kids  from below grade level to on/above grade level. Ninety seven  kids are now readers, thanks to all of you- and there are still 13 days left! We are also grateful for the teamwork that this work takes. You are all willing to jump in wherever and whenever. Thanks to those who are teaching kids how to ride bikes, tie shoes, solve soccer disputes, and everything else. Here's  Dean playing large number “before -1 and after +1” with the first grade math intervention crew- what can't that man do! Weekend Mon...

Week of May 6th

Kenly's class was writing thank you notes to Jenn for being an amazing student teacher this year. At least they are internalizing zones language, and seeing how the zones can apply to others? School goal number two in action! Speaking of school goal number two, check out Ms. B's class's work on triggers and glimmers. I agree with Billie- recorder practice could definitely be a trigger! School goal number one present in first grade, as they bring their learning about community to life by visiting members of our community! School goal number one coming alive here as Mikey shows his thinking and explains how someone could improve their answer in math intervention. Go Mikey! And finally, our overarching school goal: community. A huge shoutout to Marty, the whole specials team, all teachers who ran with kids during their planning period, those who helped kids make signs, etc... what a great day to bring our whole community together! Weekend Monday 5/6 Staff Appreciation Week- br...
