Happy summer!

Second grade playing loteria all together- what a fun way to bring our school together.  I have to admit, I was nervous about disrupting routines on the last day of language for outdoor game day and loteria, but I was wrong. Students stepped up to the opportunity to come together as a whole grade level, and to get to share a game that many of them know and love, but was new for others. Thank you to the language team for organizing this for our students!

The look of achievement. Savor it this week!

new information:

Lit Bit:
DIBELS: Thank you all for your tireless work with reading instruction this year.  We have so much to celebrate and it is great to see data that supports our efforts.  Well done team CRES!

Read Plans: There is a final step at the end of the year to ensure that read plans are carried over to the next year.  Tamsyn and I will be doing these final updates on Thursday (since we do not have groups that day) in order to take something off your plate.  If you have a specific thought about a student's read plan feel free to reach out.  Otherwise, we will make changes (like removing or adding) after our BOY data.

Field Day: Fourth, third, and second will be outside from 8:45-10:45. K/1 will be outside from 12:20-1:40. Lunch and lunch recess will be at the normal times (besides first grade lunch recess). All teachers get a 30 minute break with no students, plus a 30 minute lunch-- please look at the field day tab on the building schedule! Here is a map of where things will be on the field, and here are more details about the activities. You will go out with your class and pick an activity, and rotate when you are ready- there are a couple extra activities, so it should be okay to rotate without a big airhorn.

There will be pizza for lunch in the staff saloon!

There are many special events next week. Please be mindful of the calendar!

building schedule: We have a number of building schedule drafts for your review. Please submit feedback on the drafts by Wednesday 5/29 in the morning, or you can email Aimee to share preferences.
I am trying to make things work for everyone, and the requirements for things like Tier 1, SPED service minutes, etc. are prioritized. Thank you!

Seeking a content rep for K-2 and 3-4 (thank you to Jackie for doing this work for 23-24!). See here for more info!

eoy checkout: Here's the updated check-out document for this year. Please note some changes around tech-- you will bring your whole bin (from last year) to Jeane this year, instead of leaving it in your room. Also, facilities has asked that all personal minifridges, kettles, and microwaves go home for the summer and do not return.

spanish for educators: PTO is willing to pay for a couple of people to take this. Please let Aimee know ASAP if you are interested, and cc Megan so she can pay for it.

shoutouts and fun!

advice to a future second grader.... get ready to write!

Sending a huge shout out to Josefina for all her amazing years at CRES! We will miss you!

I love the people here and this place! ❤️ - Kelly

Gratitude to Marty for lending SSN his tent for our field day last week.  I was advised not to bother with it, and I'm grateful Marty made it so easy for me to disregard that advice.  We would have roasted without it!  Thank you thank you!  -Mary G

I want to give a shout out to the Third grade team for all the time and effort they put towards making the RBR camping trip so memorable. I heard countless comments about how much fun kids had.

I’m thankful for my third grade team. We had a great year together, and I’m so lucky to have gained two new friends out of the deal. Sorry Mandy, you don’t count cause you were already my friend. 😏 Sometimes things happen the way they do for a reason.
 Love you!
Jackie

I have a shout out to Jeane for being a problem solver this past Monday when Mr. Madsen was not here. She paired my class which had PE up with the class that had stem and they played DodgeBall. The kids loved it and still got the exercise they needed. Thanks for being a problem solver on short notice Jeane! 🙏 Mary

Shout out to Jeane, Tori, Tamsyn, Sarah, Annie, Kristin and Mandy for tutoring during the 3rd session of Summit54 tutoring this spring!

These two might be turning into each other....

I have a shout out for the Language Team for working together to give the students the opportunity to play loteria on the last day of Language. The kids were talking about it all day and looking forward to it! 🪅 Mary

mark your calendars for the Kelly Marostica half marathon! only this year it's the 8 mile loop at Sutey Ranch on Saturday, June 15th.   Family and friends are welcome to join!  Let me know if you plan to make it so I have enough snacks/drinks for everyone!
