Post-Thanksgiving

For all of you- enjoy a well deserved week off. Aimee and I are so grateful for so many things. We are grateful for the dedication and creativity you bring to your work every day, the compassion you show to each other and to us, and the love you have for our students. We are also grateful for the laughter and silliness that make this job, which can seem so big some days, do-able. Glad to be in this with all of you!  Fourth graders showing teamwork AND enthusiasm! I also often find that fine motor tasks like these are a great regulation tool-- you need your brain to be calm in order to succeed! First grade joy at completing their second unit of Module 2. They are definitely deep into their learning! Saying goodbye to a dear friend. 4th grade turkey competition! Week of November 13th

This week's newsletter isn't starting off with a touch point about our school goals, or an inspirational quote- instead, this space is dedicated to sharing with all of you an amazing moment from Thursday morning.  A fourth grader dropped her birthday cupcakes while getting off the bus at 7:30. First amazing moment- she didn't cry! Instead, she and her friend told everyone "nothing to see here" while trying desperately to salvage the cupcakes (see image above). THEN, who came to the rescue but Chef Matty and Tamsyn! Turns out Chef Matty was a pastry chef for a while, and those cupcakes were soon good as new. Here's to magical morning moments! Weekend Monday 11/13 ELA collab meetings with Kendall/Becky (from EL) Happy Birthday Tamara! Day one of pumpkin in your pocket (see below) Tuesday 11/14 Student Ambassadors- tour leader meeting, 10:30 Slam Poetry at TACAW, 6-7, free drink ticket for teachers Wednesday 11/15 MTSS : third graders AV and VR Aimee out 8-12 ERW...

Thanks to everyone for being flexible, having compassion, and keeping our students at the heart of our work this week. I don't think I was necessarily in flow this week, but I did appreciate these questions from Elena Aguilar to help me take a pause, and think about the whole month.
