For all of you- enjoy a well deserved week off. Aimee and I are so grateful for so many things. We are grateful for the dedication and creativity you bring to your work every day, the compassion you show to each other and to us, and the love you have for our students. We are also grateful for the laughter and silliness that make this job, which can seem so big some days, do-able. Glad to be in this with all of you!
Fourth graders showing teamwork AND enthusiasm! I also often find that fine motor tasks like these are a great regulation tool-- you need your brain to be calm in order to succeed!
First grade joy at completing their second unit of Module 2. They are definitely deep into their learning!
Saying goodbye to a dear friend.
4th grade turkey competition!
new information:
This week's family communication
Teachers, you may have received a request to participate in the 23-24 National Teacher Survey. The request was not generated by me (Aimee) & I don't know how you were or were not selected to participate. I put paper surveys in your mailboxes if you were selected. Thanks!
lit bit: Next week we will be taking students from round 1. However, since the MOY windows is opening we will not be testing them.
The MOY window is December 4th-December 15th. You might want to practice giving some of the probes because you will be completing these on all of your Core and Strategic students (intervention will only be testing the students that are in their groups). Reach out to the Lit team if you have questions or need help.
testing windows: the NWEA and student survey windows will be open when we get back. More to come at ERW!
spirit wear: we have a new spirit wear store! Orders are open now, and will be delivered by December 19th!
calm down corner: check out Ana, a kinder teacher at BES, talking about how she sets up her calm down corner here, on Amanda from Focused Kid's blog!
shoutouts and fun!
You do make a difference in their lives, especially on those really hard days. Happy Thanksgiving! |
I would like to thank and recognize the amazing SSN staff at Crystal River Elementary School. They have been nothing, but helpful and accommodating with all Swann Clinic and Pediatric Psychology Services of Colorado’s staff. Heather and Mary have also been incredibly collaborative with all of our staff and we have all watched our now previous learners learn to love and flourish at school. Thank you SSN team at CRES, we are very excited to graduate many more kids to your excellent staff.
A huge thank you the the kitchen staff. You all are amazing. It’s been a long time since we have seen that many parents enjoying lunch with their kiddos !!!

About Rootbeer Richie & The Reveille: Swamp boys gonna do swamp things, even when you take ‘em to a city one thousand miles from home and a mile in the sky. So it goes with Rootbeer Richie, born in the bayou then uprooted to the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Backed by the Reveille, seven of the hardest hitters in Denver’s diamond-in-the-rough music scene, they form the most soulful rhythm & blues band this side of the Mississippi.
Inspired by but never derivative of legends like Fats Domino, Ray Charles, and Sam Cooke, Rootbeer Richie & the Reveille pull from a variety of influences to create their long, tall drink of soul-infused swamp pop. On stage, the band has quickly gained a reputation as one of the most life-affirming live acts in Denver. “The point of the music is to help you feel whatever it is you need to feel,” says Rootbeer. Those who’ve been converted, though, know he’s being modest. After just one spiritual awakening at a Reveille live show, it’s damn near impossible to feel anything other than the unbridled joy of being alive.
