  Check out these kinders using dots as they leave art class to show what zone they are in! This week has felt like so many pieces are coming together- we are hearing kids use zones language, reading data is coming in, NWEA data, learning celebrations... Make sure you take a moment to reflect on this mid way point.  There won't be a newsletter next week.   On this snowy cozy afternoon, I've been thinking about t his article  from Angela Watson. In it, she talks about the idea of setting yourself up to use part of winter break as a designated sabbatical, where you detach from all school related work. She says that, "every December, I hope to understand more about my own needs for thriving and go deeper into the sabbatical practices as I uncover what works for me." As we think about pruning and thriving, how are you setting yourself up for winter? The idea of deciding on an intention for winter break does seem ridiculous, but I'm curious to see what it feels like, and maybe you are too.   Schoolwide goal number 1: Hannah's class was modeling different emotions. Here's a great example of why "elated" and "overjoyed" are red zone emotions!
