Check out these kinders using dots as they leave art class to show what zone they are in! This week has felt like so many pieces are coming together- we are hearing kids use zones language, reading data is coming in, NWEA data, learning celebrations... Make sure you take a moment to reflect on this mid way point. There won't be a newsletter next week. Remember that ERW is a self care/gift of time, but come to the library at 2:15 for a special snack.
new information:

January support: More details to come on January 8th, but I feel incredibly grateful to have a large group of people supporting us while Aimee is out. Paula, Joel Hathaway, Cora Carballeira, Jessica Smith, and Sarah Frederick will all be in the building at various times to help us. I'll have photos and schedules for you in January!

Please sign up for a choice for ERW if you haven't yet!
late starts: after we return in January, late starts will be an option. For now, we will simply adjust the schedule and start from wherever we are at 10 am (see LS 1 tab on building schedule). We know that this means third and second don't have specials. When 3 late starts have been called, we will build a different schedule, but the general feeling was that it would be more disruptive to have a different schedule for that day.
Read plans: There's a chance that we need to write read plans for NEW students who qualify for one. If so, we will be be in touch by Wednesday, but you will want to use some of your work time on Thursday to do so.
shoutouts and fun:
Thank you to Tori and Paula for your willingness to share your space with 2nd grade!
First grade has been studying stories of the gingerbread man… After a first grader was in trouble on the playground, he ran from one of the recess teachers yelling, “catch me if you can!”
2 second grade girls in the hallway, “Ms. M what happened to your ankle? How do you put on your underwear?”
Shoutout to Mary Lewis- Tamsyn
