Week of May 6th

Kenly's class was writing thank you notes to Jenn for being an amazing student teacher this year. At least they are internalizing zones language, and seeing how the zones can apply to others? School goal number two in action!

Speaking of school goal number two, check out Ms. B's class's work on triggers and glimmers. I agree with Billie- recorder practice could definitely be a trigger!
School goal number one present in first grade, as they bring their learning about community to life by visiting members of our community!

School goal number one coming alive here as Mikey shows his thinking and explains how someone could improve their answer in math intervention. Go Mikey!

And finally, our overarching school goal: community. A huge shoutout to Marty, the whole specials team, all teachers who ran with kids during their planning period, those who helped kids make signs, etc... what a great day to bring our whole community together!

Fun Crew Greeting idea from Mira-- have parents send you baby photos, and then use this as a check in! Also, a way to get GREAT parent engagement with a remind message...

Class Picture Day:
The schedule is here. If your time doesn't work, see if you can swap with another teacher. If you can't swap, please let me (Kendall) know BY END OF DAY Tuesday so that I can figure out a plan! Reminders: Pictures will be outside of the library doors, as long as the weather is good. If students want individual pictures, they will have to bring an order form in (or do it online) in advance, and those will be taken after the group photo. Please come down at your scheduled time, and text the people after you if it seems like they are running early or late! (also, keep me updated please). Please also have your kids in line from tallest to smallest, and have all order forms collected from backpacks in advance.

CRES Events Calendar: PLEASE add things to this calendar, particularly if you are leaving campus or not going to be in your normal location, or if you are inviting families. It really helps the office team! If you don't have access to change events, and would like to have that power and responsibility, please ask Kendall.

shout outs and fun!

A belated happy school lunch heroes day to our lunch heroes. Matty, Gabby, and Andrew, thank you for tirelessly helping all students get fed, and doing it with smiles and good cheer!

E was for Earth Day in the alphabet countdown, and these siblings brought it to life!

some focused work in Heather's room!

I'm grateful for Elliot immediately validating and celebrating my student of the month nominee.  I appreciate your reaction, Elliott, and for helping me understand the importance of parking spaces here.

Thank you Casey for lending me a listening ear after school. I appreciate you!

I have a shout out for the CRES School Community! What an amazing event and it is so powerful to see parents running with their children and manning the lap counting station, other grade level students cheering each other on from the sidelines, staff members running alongside students with siblings in tow, and smiles in every direction! It gave me chills the first time I participated and still does as the positive energy is contagious! You are all amazing and provide a memorable experience for all here at CRES to cherish! Mary🥰

Fun Fact- Crystal ran 19 laps this morning during the 2nd Grade Rams Run, one with each student that was here today in Ms. Mary's Class. Go Crystal!

Shout out to Sue for facilitating my SSN students to visit the Art Museum before tear down.  And thanks again to Sue and everyone who makes the Art Show happen.  Sue, you make our kids into honest-to-goodness Artists (and you make it look easy!).  It is a gift for our community to gather together and experience it--the cave! the scavenger hunt! all of it!

1st grade! Go Team! Thanks for all your flexibility, patience, and dedication to our students! Fabulous Field Trip- wishing I picked up a swag bag- on ðŸ”¥

Shoutout to our morning greeting team! (while Cheril helps a student with a morning health need)
