need to know and new information:

ERW: The first part of ERW (2:15-3) will be planning time for implementation of the zones lesson around triggers. Slides and directions will be sent out at 2. We will meet in the library at 3 to debrief zones, and then to hear from Anna Cole about the district strategic plan. We will be done at 3:45. Third grade has signed up for snacks- thanks third grade!

STEM ask: please keep the  thin cardboard coming, a la cereal boxes and soda boxes for 4th grade. Thank you so much!!

CMAS: Here's the schedule. It will start the second week back from spring break-- I'll go over the schedule in more detail during ERW on April 3rd! If you are interested in helping me work on the song, please let me know; we have a draft so far (thanks to Casey for the song idea!) and would love more people's input and ideas.

attendance: please put any attendance letters for students who did not have or show up to their conference in Kendall's mailbox. Thank you!

mental health provider: Britta Hadden is currently on leave, and we are excited to welcome Randi Hutchinson, our new school social worker. She will be using Britta's office- say hi and introduce yourself!

blue lake fundraiser- free tickets!: We have six tickets to the Blue Lake Preschool fundraiser at TACAW on April 5th, from 6 pm to 10 pm. Tickets include tastings from local restaurants, adult beverages, door prizes, a silent auction, and music and "dancing with DJ Honey." Let Aimee know if you are interested- maybe a fun team bonding event?!

Writing Contest for the Colorado Water Trust- see here!

recommendations:

  • Book rec: House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Kline (slow to start, LGBTQ+, found family, magic, acceptance, it is meant for adults, could be OK for families with teens/tweens but please preview first) - Jeane
  • Audiobook rec: Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson (sort of magical otherworldly setting, great narration and a Princess Bride storyteller vibe, could be OK for families with teens/tweens but please preview first) - Jeane
  • The Man in the High Castle, Amazon (few years old but just started and very engrossed)  - Tori
  • Read: The Bee Sting (long, but it all comes together at the end) - Aimee

shoutouts:

I have a shout out for the kindergarten teachers for being an authentic audience for the 2nd graders. We were so proud to sing and do our oral presentations for you last Friday. Thanks for taking the time and making the trek down to our pod! Mary

We also just want to wish Heidi well as she embarks on her parenthood journey. CRES wishes you the best and hopes for a quick, healthy welcome and lots of time together! We will miss you and welcome you when you return next year! ❤️The Second Grade Team

Shoutout to everyone who helped translate during conferences; it's a big mental load to carry!

Appreciation to Jeane, Sue, and Marty for being our welcome table all stars during conferences- and to Jeane for being the food delivery chair person!

 TWINS!
