Third grade did some outside measuring this week! While the weather felt like summer this week, the leaves are clearly saying that it's just about October. This is one of my favorite times at school, when routines are in place and the growth is so clear in the past 6.5 weeks. Take a moment to celebrate how far your students have come.
new information:
ERW: This is a district Wednesday. For classroom teachers, we will use this time to write Read Plans. You will have more time allocated on October 11th if needed. Sarah will be sending out an email with more details at the start of next week.
Lit Bit:
- This week intensive students in ROUND 2 will be progress monitored 1-4.
- 2-4 will complete a MAZE progress monitor with their entire homeroom class. This seems easier to manage and we have found kids need more practice in order to understand the platform. There are graphs in the "DIBELS Goal Setting "folder. You can also find it at this link
- We will use ERW time on October 4th (training/Review of writing them in Educlimber) and 11th (more work time) for Read Plans. These are needed for conferences.
- Home Connect letters (with the DIBELS BOY data) will be printed and put in your mailboxes before conferences. Thank you, Tamsyn for doing this for all teachers!
Students use Starfall at school on the computer to engage in many literacy and math activities. Your child has the opportunity to use Starfall at home as well… for FREE!
