New Information
Orientation: The signup genius is here. The plan is here. PLEASE make sure that you have communicated between grade level and support teachers! If you need coverage, please reach out to the kinder team as they are available!
from Mark:
1. I am not Santa, Aimee is Santa. All requests for new devices need to be approved by her. Tech supports existing devices, projectors, doc-cams, account issues, phones (which will be updated soon upon receiving an updated phone list), and printing issues.
2. All tech requests should go through rfsd.incidentiq.com, (please not via email).
See this slide deck for more info/help with that.
3. Here is the student credentials list. It gets updated as new students get added.
Math updates: Here is the pacing guide. See notes below! This blog post also has great info on how to organize centers.
- Each grade level has a tab because the number of units and length of units is not consistent
- The document is view only, but teams can make copies (although formatting to add in school specific things like field trips will be tricky)
- Lessons and section summaries are linked in the pacing guide for ease
- This pacing reflects a 60 minute main lesson each instructional day as recommended by IM (K-2 have Centers time built into their pacing either daily (Kinder) or on a regular rotation (1st and 2nd), but centers are additional for grades 3-5 and each school looks different in terms of scheduled time for math- some schools have longer for math than others, so some schools will be able to offer centers at 3rd-5th more regularly than other schools
- Each grade has time to fit the content into the school calendar and every grade has some extra/blank days at the end of the year- some grades have more of these extra days than others and pacing is tightest at 4th grade
- The CMAS window is noted for 3-5, but not inserted into the pacing because all schools schedule this differently
- I planned for 2 days for Kindergarten assessments because they are observational checklists and can happen in small groups or one-on-one while centers are happening
- I included a day for Kinder and 1st to use for norming routines prior to their first center day
- 2nd grade centers days are not optional in our district pacing because that additional practice is essential for fluency for 2nd graders and this ensures that teachers have a regular time to pull small groups to reteach
- If pacing is an issue, there are some optional lessons at each grade level, but we're hoping that it won't be necessary to omit lessons this year
